Hearing Rehabilitation Classes

Hearing aids help many people to improve their hearing, however, they don’t replace normal hearing and it is common that further help is required. We, therefore, run hearing rehabilitation classes for clients who need some extra help.

Hearing loss can be a challenging condition, but it doesn't have to be a barrier to communication and participation in life. Hearing rehabilitation classes can help you learn how to cope with hearing loss and improve your communication skills.

During the classes, clients are invited to share their challenges with our clinicians and each other, and together we come up with strategies and solutions to help improve your quality of life with a hearing aid.

The content of hearing rehabilitation classes varies, but they typically cover the following topics:

Hearing rehabilitation is a process that helps people with hearing loss improve their communication skills and quality of life. It can include counseling, training on how to use hearing aids, and strategies for coping with hearing loss.

Hearing rehabilitation classes are open to anyone who has hearing loss, regardless of the severity. They can be especially beneficial for people who have recently been diagnosed with hearing loss or who are struggling to adjust to their hearing aids.

The content of hearing rehabilitation classes varies, but they typically cover the following topics:

  • The impact of hearing loss on communication and daily life
  • How to use hearing aids effectively
  • Strategies for coping with hearing loss in social situations
  • Tips for improving listening skills
  • Speechreading
  • Assistive listening devices

The length of hearing rehabilitation classes varies, but they typically last for 6-8 weeks. The number of sessions per week also varies, but most classes meet once or twice a week.

Hearing rehabilitation classes can help people with hearing loss to:

  • Improve their communication skills
  • Reduce social isolation
  • Increase their confidence and self-esteem
  • Participate more fully in activities they enjoy
  • Improve their quality of life

The cost of hearing rehabilitation classes varies depending on the provider. Some providers offer free or low-cost classes, while others charge a fee.
